Chasing After Happiness

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.” United States Declaration of Independence.

Maybe you think that you have to have things to enjoy life. The truth is just the opposite. You have to have life to enjoy things.  Most people today know that things do not make them happy. Once you have enough money to pay for the things you need, more money probably will not bring you more happiness.

Happiness is not a guarantee. To be happy, you need to live a meaningful life. Not just a life that has everything but has no meaning or purpose. You will need to know yourself to grow yourself to have a happy life. This means understanding your own personality and the personality of others around you.

Happy people do not have everything. Happy people are those who use everything they have. This is real happiness.

Dr. Miles Monroe wrote in, Understanding Your Potential, published by Destiny Image Publishers, “Many people get distracted in life because they do not desire anything enough to keep on course.  You must have a goal that you desire so strongly you will go after it no matter what the expense (cost to you).”

“…the Pursuit of Happiness means running after happiness or chasing it.  Are you running after happiness or just waiting for someone or something to make you happy? Are you busy building your own dream or someone else’s?

The world is full of people who want you to make their dream come true. The “Pursuit of Happiness” means that you dream your own dream, build your own success. Otherwise, you’ll find yourself dreaming someone else’s dream and building someone else’s world.
